JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Graduate Legal Fellow, you will support the Hong Kong Office in carrying out casework, capacity- Uilding programmes, and research that is critical to developing cross- Order access to justice for vulnerable migrant workers.


- Full- Time, lasting for 12 months
- Stipend: $18,000 per month
- Occasional overseas travel may be required as part of our work

- Based in and eligible to work in Hong Kong
- Law graduate (LLB, JD, LLM, etc. )
- Professional proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese), with excellent writing, communication, presentation, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and can work well in a multicultural environment
- Positive attitude and desire to work as part of a team
- Interested in being part of an innovative, small non- Rofit team that is unique in the region, working in a fast- Aced environment
- Self- Directed and able to follow through on tasks and responsibilities independently
- Previous experience working with non- Rofit organizations
- Previous experience in migrant worker issues or related fields
- Fluency in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia or Tagalog
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary legal research and case analysis for incoming cases
- Prepare case packages and draft instructions for JWB?s pro bono lawyers
- Communicate with clients to collect evidence and prepare case documents
- Liaise with home country staff members and partners to facilitate cross- Order litigation
- Day- To- Day management of ongoing cases
- Capacity- Building for union leaders, frontline NGOs, and legal partners:
- Work with our student fellows and law firm partners to complete selected research. Topics will depend on the needs of ongoing cases.
- Support programme- Related PR efforts including preparing content of PR materials for stakeholders in Hong Kong
- Support organisational fundraising efforts including grant reporting and financial reporting
